He told LutonTown.co.uk: "Everyone knows how much I love playing for Luton and I am very happy to have agreed a deal to extend that in plenty of time to concentrate on next season.

"Keith was impressed with the calibre of the other signings we have made already during the close season."

Keane explained: "I really believe we are capable of getting into League 1, that is my ambition and it would be great if we can achieve that during the period of this contract. I know that my personal ambition is shared by the club and it is good to have a target like that to work towards. We want to get back to being an establish League side.
"Personally I am not worried about any other teams in this division. I feel that our destiny is in our hands, if we play well we are capable of winning this division.
"When the new management team came in we started to win games, we put results together on the trot and were playing well in the process. That shows that if we can get that right from the start of the season I am sure that we will win the league.
"We got there towards the end of last season but we ran out of games in the end, hopefully if we can carry on from where we left off and get going from the first game we will be champions come the end of the season."
