Striker Kevin Gallen has been ruled out of the Hatters' Blue Square Premier match with Ebbsfleet United on Saturday.
The veteran forward was withdrawn at half-time on Wednesday as the Town won 2-0 at Histon and has strained ligaments in his knee.
Gallen is not the only player that will miss the clash with Liam Daish's Fleet with fellow striker Ryan Charles out with a knee injury that will require surgery on Monday.
There are doubts over Claude Gnakpa, who like Gallen also came off at the Glassworld Stadium in the week, and Mark Nwokeji.
Striker Liam Hatch, who was so impressive as a second half substitute in Gallen's place, is likely to once again be in the squad although boss Richard Money is likely to ease him back into the fold gradually.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Mark Tyler continues to progress well and should be back in the squad in the next 7-14 days.
And Money believes despite Ebbsfleet's lowly position in the BSP his team will be in for a difficult game.
"I do think this is a tough game," he said. "I think they are very dangerous opponents. They have beaten both Mansfield and Stevenage in the last two months and are well capable of raising themselves to the level they need to be.
"They've had some good results recently and scored four goals at home last week.
"Both Alan (Neilson) and I saw them against Kettering and they were very unlucky not to win the game.
"They've got a mixture of league experience and Conference experience in their team.
"The front three are very dangerous and we have got to be mindful of that."
