The Club are delighted to report that Luton Borough Council have agreed to extend our lease of Kenilworth Road for further a 10 years should we win promotion back to the Football League in the next four years.
The current lease of the famous old ground, that opened in 1905 and which is owned by the Council, runs until 2018.
But in a superb show of support to the Club, the Council have revealed that should we win promotion from the Blue Square Premier between now and 2014 the lease will be extended for a further decade.
The deal was struck following discussions between the Club and Council and approved by Cllr Hazel Simmons, leader of Luton Borough Council and Cllr Robin Harris, the Council's Executive Member of Finance.
Cllr Simmons believes the agreement further enhances the support the Luton Borough Council have for the Hatters.
She said: "Luton Town have aspirations to secure promotion to the Football League, a pre-requisite of which includes having an interest in their ground for at least 10 years.
"Luton Borough Council is delighted to be able to support the Hatters in this ambition."
Meanwhile, Town Managing Director Gary Sweet expressed his excitement with the Council's backing.
"Everybody at Luton Town is delighted to have the Council's continued support," he said.
"It will allow us to continue to follow our football ambitions for the club, and our ambitions to provide excellent services to the local community."
