WREXHAM KICK-OFF PUT BACK 15 MINUTES

Posted on: Mon 21 Sep 2009

Luton Town's game away at Wrexham next Tuesday will now kick-off at 8pm and not 7.45pm as originally scheduled. The match has been put back 15 minutes to allow a memorial to take place for the tragic pit disaster which happened on 22nd September 1934 at Gresford Colliery near Wrexham.

Before kick-off on Tuesday evening there will be 264 black balloons released for every life that was lost in the disaster. A singer accompanied by a Colliery Band will also be performing prior to kick-off.

The Luton Town players will be showing their respects to this tragic event by wearing black armbands against Wrexham to mark the 75th anniversary of this tragedy.
