It was a game dominated by the Hatters and they doubled their lead five minutes from time when Hall got on the end of Kevin Nicholls' free-kick to volley past Posh goalkeeper Sam Cole.

FULL TIME:  whistle It's all over here at Kenilworth Road and the Hatters have picked up a comfortable victory over a Peterborough XI. We'll have reaction and match action on lutontown.co.uk as soon as we have it. We've hoped you enjoyed the updates.

90 mins - Oh that should be four! Hall, after his second of the game, drives a fierce shot over the crossbar from six yards after Posh fail to clear Kevin Nicholls' right-wing corner.

90 mins - GOAL! GOAL! Hatters 3-0 Peterborough XI - That's pretty route one but pretty effective and gives the Hatters their third of the afternoon. A big kick down field by Wilkinson is flicked on by Hatch and there's Watkins who lash home a left-foot strike past Cole. It's his first senior goal and he looks delighted. Lovely finish.

85 mins - GOAL! GOAL! HATTERS 2-0 Peterborough XI - It's been a long time coming but the Town have doubled their lead with an expertly taken goal five minutes before the end. Nicholls swings in another free-kick from the right and there's Hall to volley first time beyond Cole from 12 yards. Great finish.

84 mins - Both Jordan Patrick and Adam Watkins have impressed since being introduced and the two substitutes combine well with neat interplay with Watkins finding Patrick with a clever pass but the latters cross is held by Cole.

83 mins - Hatch has - like he has been all pre-season - a constany pest to opposing defenders. This time he meets Nicholls' flighted free-kick with a header that goes just wide of the target.

79 mins - Hall this time tries to become the supplier as he runs down the left and squares the ball to Hatch. However the striker can't connect cleanly and his shot screws tamely behind for a goal-kick.

77 mins - It's not really worthy of a mention by Asa Hall's first time shot from Nicholls' right-wing corner thunders well, well over the crossbar. So far over the bar it hits the Kenilworth Road end roof!

75 mins - It's been a quiet a period in the game following the arrival of more subs but the Hatters are indebted to Reynolds to prevent Posh from drawing level. Keith Keane's terrible back-pass was intercepted by Mills who rounded Wilkinson and looked all set to level things up. However, from out of nowhere, Reynolds slid in to block the striker's goalbound shot. Great defending from the trialist.

67 mins - sub Mick's making three more changes - that's now nine in total - with Keith Keane, Asa Hall and Adam Watkins replacing Pilkingon, Burgess and Blackett.

65 mins - Cole's been a busy man this half and the Peterborough keeper is in action again this time to hold on to Burgess' piledriver from 20 yards.

62 mins - Hatch has only been on the pitch two minutes but he's forced the Posh goalkeeper into a fantastic reflex save from close range. Patrick won a free-kick down the left following Nicholls' set piece the striker was left all alone at the back-post to punch a header goalwards that was somehow turned over by the crossbar by Cole. Good header, good save.

60 mins - sub Three changes for the Hatters with Liam Hatch, Jordan Patrick and Callum Reynolds on for Gallen, Talbot and Newton.

55 mins - The Hatters are still just about on top. Gallen gets his radar all wrong when flashing a free-kick on the edge of the area well wide of the goal.

50 mins - Great opportunity for Posh but they are foiled superby by substitute goalkeeper Wilkinson. Visiting sub Danny Mills dances his way through the Hatters defence and is one-on-one with the Town stopper. Just as it looks as though Mills is going to round the keeper and tap the ball home, Wilkinson bravely dives at the feet of the striker and claims the ball. Brilliant goalkeeping.

50 mins - Another chance for Howells. He picks the ball up 20 yards from goal and sends a shot goalwards that is easy for Cole.

48 mins - As mentioned in the first half Howells has been in sparkling form for the Hatters. This time he races clean through on goal after beating Danny Andrew for pace he clips a shot over the the advancing Cole. However, Danny Blanchett makes up the ground quickly and clears the ball off the line. Unlucky but good defending.

46 mins - A good move from Town a minute into the second period as Howells and Gallen combine to feed Newton who takes a touch before smashing a shot goalwards that is well saved by Cole. From the resulting corner, Howells crosses into the box and Craddock has a close-range header tipped over by the Posh keeper.

46 mins - sub Three changes for Town at the break with Ian Roper, Kevin Nicholls and David Wilkinson on for White, Talbot and Edwards.

HALF TIME whistle- It's the Hatters who hold a slender advantage at the interval thanks to Tom Craddock's fifth goal of pre-season after 36 minutes. It's not been the most exciting match you'll ever see but the Town lead nonetheless.

45 mins - Another decent opportunity for 2-0 goes begging as Craddock hits a shot from 15 yards wide of the target just before referee Mellor blows for half-time

45 mins - Just the one minute added at the end of this half by the fourth official...

38 mins - Talbot now wants a piece of the action and he drives a well-hit shot from 20 yards goalwards but Cole is equal to it with a fine save diving down to his right.

37 mins - Craddock's now in the mood and he's denied a second by the flag of the linesman after another neat move from the Hatters.

36 mins - GOAL!  GOAL! HATTERS 1-0 Peterborough - Craddock has perhaps been the most anonymous of the Town players this afternoon but he's continued his fine goalscoring form of pre-season with the opening goal. An lovely turn and pass from Burgess 20 yards from goal feeds Gnakpa who crosses for Craddock. His shot isn't the best but - despite the best efforts of Cole in the Posh goal - the ball eventually squirms over the line.

30 mins - It should be 1-0 Peterborough but Howe contrives to miss an open goal at the back the post. It was a comedy of errors, starting with Edwards racing out of his goal and was robbed of the ball by Rendell. His cross from the left found Howe but instead of coverting from close range he inexplicably sends his shot wide.

29 mins - Another effort from Posh as this time Howe sends a square pass to Jay Davies who tries his luck from 20 yard with a shot that goes well wide.

25 mins - Chance for Peterborough. Rene Howe, a former trainee at Kenilworth Road, runs into the Hatters' box, and, after twisting turning, the striker sends a left-foot shot curling wide of Edwards' right-hand post.

23 mins - A bit of action right in front of the press box as Pilkington upends Torres on the touchline sending the Argentine sprawling on the lush turf.

21 mins - Ok, I'll admit it's not been very entertaining so far but the Hatters are on top. The pitch looks nice though! Nice and green.

14 mins - Burgess is playing in a central midfield role this afternoon and, as seen already during pre-season, his passing ability has been a real highlight. This time he pings a terrific pass out to the wide right touchline to Newton. However, the former Posh man, after cutting in side can only screw his cross into the arms of Cole.

13 mins - It's been pretty quiet so far but one player to have caught the eye so far for the Town is Howells. He's showing a real desire for the ball and when he gets it he's using it well and looking to link-up with the strikers.

9 mins - Following Burgess' left-wing corner Gnakpa gets above his marker to head across the face of goal which finds White who in turns nods the ball wide of Cole's left-hand post.

6 mins - Adam Newton has been lively down the right flank linking up with Gnakpa and he tries his luck from the right-hand edge of the penalty with a shot that he drives fiercely into the empty seats in the Oak Road end.

5 mins - Great move from the Hatters between Talbot, Burgess and Gallen sees the latter see his cross-cum-shot comfortably held by Sam Cole in the visitors' goal.

4 mins - A touch of class from Sergio Torres in the centre of the Posh midfield releases Nathan Koranteng down the left. His cross is skied in the air by White and eventually claimed by Preston Edwards on the Town goal.

2 mins - Mick Harford has send his troops out 4-4-2 with a back four of Gnakpa, White, Pilkington, Blackett; a midfield of Newton, Gallen, Burgess, Howells; and Craddock and Talbot up top.

1 min -  The Town kick-off proceeding kicking towards the Oak Road end. Sit back and enjoy the updates!

14:58 - The teams are out on the Kenilworth Road pitch with the Hatters in all white and Posh sporting their green away shirts. George Pilkington is the Town's skipper this afternoon with Kevin Nicholls on the bench. It's a warm, sunny day here in Bedfordshire.
