APPLEDORE OFF BUT TOWN PROGRESS

Posted on: Fri 17 Jul 2009

Sustained heavy rain in North Devon on Thursday and Friday has meant the Hatters' South West Challenge Cup match with Wycombe Wanderers has been postponed.

The match was due to be played at Appledore but, due to the sodden underfoot conditions, the Devon Football Association were left with no option but to call the match off.

Despite the postponement the Town's participation in the tournament will continue as the organisers have sent Mick Harford's men through to the semi-finals.

Therefore, the Hatters face Exeter City tomorrow (Saturday) at Barnstaple Town's Hill Road ground. The action is due to get underway at 2pm.

Any tickets that have been purchased for the match with the Chairboys can be used at the two games that are being played tonight.

It's Grimsby Town v Yeovil Town at Torrington (kick-off 6pm) and Rushden & Diamonds v Barnstaple Town at Ilfracombe (kick-off 8pm).

Further details, including ticket information for the semi-final, came be found at the tournament website: www.southwestchallengecup.co.uk.

For tomorrow's match with the Grecians Mick Harford hopes to have defender Ed Asafu-Adjaye and Rossi Jarvis available following injury but will is likely to be withouth Alan White following the defender's dismissal at Bideford on Wednesday.

We'll have Mick Harford's thoughts on tomorrow's match on lutontown.co.uk tomorrow morning.
