Six years later and the victories decreased by one with 11 draws as the Hatters finished the 1972/73 season in 12th place of Division Two. Luton survived relegation on the final day of the 1988/89 season, with a 1-0 victory over Norwich City. It was the Hatters 10th victory of the season and was enough to secure top flight football for another season......on goal difference, by just two goals, over Sheffield Wednesday!
