This week the Hatters have further justified their billing as title favourites with the capture of goalkeeper Mark Tyler. In a bid to keep you posted with the transfer activities at our Blue Square Conference rivals, lutontown.co.uk will be rounding-up all the notable transfer activity in the division as the new season draws ever closer.
Not so long ago, Mansfield Town were appearing at Kenilworth Road as a Football League club and in a bid to re-establish themselves at that level they have this week secured the signature of 23-year-old Port Vale striker Kyle Perry. Wrexham, who were relegated twelve months prior to the Hatters demotion, have also signed a striker in the form of Polish frontman Adrian Cieslewicz from Manchester City.
Gateshead have snapped up left-back Mark Robinson from Blue Square Premier rivals York City and Barrow have bolstered their midfield with the signing of experienced campaigner Robin Hulbert, who like Town's George Pilkington counts both Port Vale and Everton amongst his former clubs. He has moved to Hulker Street on a free transfer and will be taking his instruction from joint manager and ex-Hatter David Bayliss who shares managerial duties at Barrow with Darren Sheridan.
Kidderminster Harriers find themselves looking for a new goalkeeper following Adam Bartlett departure to Hereford United. At some point next season Bartlett could well be facing Conference play-off winners Torquay United in League 2 but he won't be coming under attack from striker Matt Green, the Gulls have allowed the young striker to move to Oxford United for the third time, on this occasion in a season-long loan deal having appeared at the Kassam Stadium in two spells during the 2007/08 season.
