Recent history:
The 2008/09 campaign saw Wimbledon's meteoric rise through the Non-League pyramid continue following their fourth promotion in seven seasons.
It all started back in 2002 for the club reborn following the original Wimbledon's relocation to Milton Keynes.
Starting in the Combined Counties League their first promotion was sealed in their second season of existence in 2003/04 when topping the CCL and earning promotion to the Ryman League.
A second Championship followed in the next campaign when lifting the Ryman League Division One title in 2004/05.
The Dons had near misses in the semi-finals of the Ryman Premier League playoffs two seasons running before making it third time lucky in 2007/08 when beating Staines Town in the playoff final.
Quickly acclimatising to life in at a higher level, the Dons' title triumph in the Conference South last season means they're now one step from reaching the Football League.
FACT: All the silverware won by the club as the original Wimbledon now takes pride of place in the Merton Library in Morden.
