WHITE RETURNS TO KENILWORTH ROAD

Posted on: Mon 08 Jun 2009

The new season may only be two months away still but today Town boss Mick Harford made his fourth new signing of the summer following the arrival of Alan White.

Centre-half White is no stranger to Kenilworth Road after making 93 league and cup appearances for the Hatters after signing from Middlesbrough for £40,000 in 1997.

He left Kenilworth Road for Colchester United in 2000 before moving to Leyton Orient, Boston United and Notts County before signing for his home-town side Darlington in 2007.

White made 85 appearances during his time in the North East, appearing twice for the Quakers in victories over the Town last season.

The centre-half, 33, has agreed to sign a two-year contract and gives the Hatters further cover and experience in defence.

White joins Andy Burgess, Adam Newton and Liam Hatch as the new faces in the Town dressing room together with Jake Howells and Kevin Gallen who both signed new contracts with the club.

Return to lutontown.co.uk later for reaction from Mick Harford and Alan White.
