Young Hatters defender Ed Asafu-Adjaye has been named in Playerform's League 2 squad of the season.

The 20-year-old - who is the only member of the Town's 2008/09 squad to be included - is one of four full backs chosen by the Playerform panel.

Playerform have rated the performance of every Premier and Football League player in every game they have played over the course of the season to come up with a 26-man squad.

Asafu-Adjaye is joined in the full back's list with Bournemouth's Rhoys Wiggins, Rochdale's Scott Wiseman and Jamie Green of Rotherham United.

According to Playerform, the squads comprise "players who have been the most effective performers in their respective positions during the 2008/09 campaign. The squads have been selected taking into account a number of factors including ability, consistency, influence and potential".

Hammersmith-born Ed has played right across the Town's backline this season at left back, right back and at centre half.

On hearing about his selection in the squad, Ed said: "I'm delighted to be selected in the Playerform League 2 squad of the season and thankful to the panel for my inclusion.

"It's good to know that my performances have been watched this season and I am obviously pleased to see them recognised in this way."

Ed will receive a memento of his selection early at the start of next season.
