Scunthorpe United manager Nigel Adkins has told his League One high-fliers cannot afford to underestimate the Hatters in tomorrow's Johnstone's Paint Trophy final at Wembley.
Talking to scunthorpe-united.co.uk ahead of tomorrow's showdown, the Iron boss believes his side cannot afford to take the Town lightly.
"It will be a tough, tough game," Adkins said. "We can't underestimate Luton. We may be classed as favourites because we're from a higher division but it's a cup final and anything can happen."
"They're in a false league position. I went to watch them play Rotherham on Tuesday night and they're a good outfit.
"I saw Mick Harford before the game and he invited me for a drink, and they've done great. He's had two hands tied behind his back because to get a 30 point deduction before you've kicked a ball is massively difficult.
"He's such a real nice guy, I've been on a course with him and whenever I've come across him he's so genuine. He's a good man.
"They're a dangerous team. They'll try and play football the right way and we've got to make sure we defend well when they're in possession. It will be competitive, that's for sure.
"I remember Liverpool versus Wimbledon in 1988. Liverpool were huge favourites for that game but Wimbledon beat them.
"Anything could happen. There could be a controversial refereeing decision or a wonder goal from the opposition.
"We know it will be a tough match but we've got to go out and earn the right to play. Then, when the chances arrive, we must take them."
