HARFORD: WE'RE LOOKING SHARP

Posted on: Wed 07 Jan 2009

With the continuing cold weather wreaking havoc across the country, Hatters manager Mick Harford was enthusiastic about his players' attitude in training this week.

Speaking exclusively to www.lutontown.co.uk, Harford said he was not letting the chilly conditions affect their preparation for Saturday's crucial game with Rotherham.

He said: "We couldn't get on the pitches on Tuesday because it was very frosty and as there is no grass to train on we went and had a session on the Astroturf.

"It was a good session. The players were lively, they looked good and looked sharp and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time."

And despite the postponement of the Chester game, the manager took some satisfaction out of Bournemouth's last-gasp defeat to Darlington which kept the Town eight points behind the Cherries.

"Well it was the first time I'd watched Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday for ages," Harford said.

"They were winning 1-0 early on but they conceded two late goals."

"I spoke to Darlington manager Dave Penney on Monday and he said Bournemouth came for a draw, so they got what they deserved really."
