Following Luton's defeat at Reading Hatters boss, Mick Harford, admitted that his side could learn from the Championship team.

"We just have to take what we can from it," he said.

"It was a difficult game for us but the lads have come in this week in high spirits and it's my job to lift the players ready for the weekend.

"I think we can learn something from Reading's attitude."

And Mick stood by his decision to put loan signing, Conrad Logan in goal for the Carling Cup fixture.

"You couldn't really put any of the goals down to Logan and I feel a bit sorry for him.

"Logan has come in to create competition for the goalkeepers place; both the lads will fight for it and the best man will win."

With the transfer deadline looming Luton still have work to do.

"Dean Morgan is currently having a medical at Leyton Orient," Mick commented. "If he passes that he will go on loan there until the end of January.

"We are hoping to bring in some more players before the deadline."

But Mick knows his side is going to have to work hard if they are to come away from Exeter with three points on Saturday.

"Exeter are renowned at the moment for playing good, attractive, attacking football.

"They have a good mixture of youth and experience in their squad and are on a bit of a momentum at the moment."

However Mick is confident the team he picks will be up to the job.

"If you take out the Reading game we have only let in one goal in the last three games and that was a penalty so I have been delighted with our defending."
