After completing a loan spell with Leicester City at the end of last season, David Bell reported back for pre-season training with his Luton team-mates this week and admitted he is only interested in getting on with his football at Kenilworth Road despite speculation surrounding his future.

The former Republic of Ireland youth international is less surprised than others to be back with the Hatters and his immediate future is play his part in helping Town bounce back at the first attempt.

Talking about a permanent deal with the Foxes Bell explained: "The Leicester transfer was on the basis that they stayed up and they didn't so I always knew I was going to come back, so it's not really a big shock to be honest.

"It's out of my hands really, it's flattering when clubs have shown an interest; I do want to play at the highest level and I'd like to think that if the opportunity ever did come to move up, then the fans wouldn't hold it against me.

It's very important to get a good start this year

"However the focus remains for me with Luton, it's very important to get a good start this year; obviously it looks at the moment that we're going start on minus points so we've got to get off to a good start and get some wins under our belt as early as we possibly can.

"We have been working mainly on ball work this morning and we're going to do a bit more running this afternoon.

"It's good to be back and get the first session out of the way so we can just crack on now."
