TALBOT TURNS DOWN ITALIAN JOB

Posted on: Thu 31 Jan 2008

Luton boss Mick Harford has revealed that striker Drew Talbot has turned down the chance to join Italian side Brescia.

The Italian Serie B side, who finished sixth last season, have shown plenty of interest in the Hatters striker.

But Talbot has decided to stay at Kenilworth Road and help the Hatters in their bid for League One survival this season.

Speaking at today's press conference, Harford said: "There was an interest in Drew Talbot, but that has all disappeared.

"Brescia had shown a lot of interest in him, but Drew doesn't want to go and play in Italy. It is such a short period of time to decide to go and move to another country."

Meanwhile, Harford has confirmed that there has been no 'significant offers' for other Luton players as the January transfer window prepares to close at midnight.

The Luton boss added: "Some clubs have asked about taking players on-loan but we are not really in the situation to loan anybody out."
