EDWARDS DOUBT
Hatters midfielder Dave Edwards is a slight doubt for Luton's trip to Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon.
The Welsh Under-21 international missed the Carling Cup win over Charlton on Tuesday night with a viral infection.
However, Luton have strengthened their squad this afternoon by signing Tottenham goalkeeper Ben Alnwick on loan.
And the 20-year-old shot-stopper goes straight into the squad for the trip to the Galpharm Stadium.
Blackwell is now calling on his players to not rest on their laurels, but to continue their form into a busy period of League One football.
"I think the win against Charlton on Tuesday has just reinforced what we have been talking about," said Blackwell.
"The quality of football the lads have been playing is there, but it was nice to win and do it in such style.
"As manager, if you have players sitting back and relaxing, then it could effect the league form.
"If players do that then they won't be involved in the next cup game that comes around.
"I just hope we can finish teams off in our league campaign like what we showed against Charlton on Tuesday."
On the subject of Alnwick's arrival, Blackwell was keen to point out that he wants their to be more competition in the goalkeeping department.
And the Hatters boss was quick to praise the performance of Luton shot-stopper Dean Brill against Charlton, who pulled off a number of key saves.
"Brilly came in and did very well on Tuesday night. But I have brought in Ben on loan because I want to make sure the competition is still there.
"I have said to Tottenham that if players are playing well then I won't drop so Dean Brill has given me a selection problem on Saturday, but it is one that I want.
"Ben is a highly rated goalkeeper and I think it does show, once again, that Luton Town Football Club, has the ability to attract quality players to come and play here."
Meanwhile, Blackwell is hoping his side can finally record their first league points away from home this season.
"I think it will be an equal game. We have got to make sure we go there with the same sort of confidence that we have shown over the last three or four weeks and give it a real good go.
"I do think that my set of players can beat anyone in this division when we are firing on all football cylinders."
