A much improved home performance saw the Hatters collect three well deserved points this afternoon at Kenilworth Road.
Luton took an early lead with Sol Davis drilling home on 6 minutes.
Dagenham & Redbridge equalised in the 32nd minute with a header from Magnis Okuonghae, however The Hatters re-took the lead thanks to Paul McVeigh.
The Daggers made a bright start with Scott Griffiths being denied in the 3rd minute thanks to a great diving save by Conrad Logan.
Undeterred, Luton went on the attack and took the lead on 6 minutes when a one-two between Sol Davis and Chris Martin allowed Davis to slot home into the right-hand corner.
Kevin Gallen was unlucky to see his first shot for the Hatters deflected wide on 13 minutes following some good movement by Martin.
The visitors pulled level on 32 minutes when Magnus Okuonghae headed in a corner, over the body of Logan who had been floored in a scuffle.
The Hatters nearly took the lead again just one minute later, but Tony Roberts produced a good save to stop Kevin Nicholls' freekick.
Roberts was called into action again in the 34th minute when Gallen tried his luck from distance.
Martin danced his way around the defence on 37 minutes before passing to Paul McVeigh, visting keeper Roberts pushed away McVeigh's shot and a flurry of defenders managed to clear the area before he could reach the loose ball.
Martin capitalised on a mistake by Mark Arber in the 41st minute by putting in a cross to McVeigh who was waiting in the area. McVeigh finished the movement off nicely, firing past the diving keeper to put the Hatters back in the lead just before the break.
Not content with being a goal up the Hatters had two more opportunities to add a third before the break.
The first came on 44 minutes when following some great interplay between Jake Howells and Davis, which allowed Martin to find space down the left-hand side to pass the ball across goal for McVeigh who shot into the side netting.
Dagenham & Redbridge had the final effort of the half, with a freekick from just outside the area taken by Sam Saunders, but his shot flew over the bar..
HALF TIME: LUTON TOWN 2-1 DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE
The Hatters should have scored on 56 minutes when Howells made a great run down the left-hand side before crossing into the area. Gallen flew in but missed and so the ball rolled on to McVeigh whose sliding attempt once again hit the side netting.
Claude Gnakpa had a goal disallowed on 84 minutes thanks to a late offside flag and two minutes later
The Hatters were denied a penalty when Gallen was fouled in the area.
The Hatters kept the pressure on and Gallen was unlucky to see his attempt from outside the area saved on 88 minutes.
