Dean Brill prevented an embarrassing scoreline in the Hatters last away game of the season.
Luton failed to make an impression on the home side and went 1-0 down on 34 minutes after Matt Mills was left unmarked in the area.
Rovers doubled their score on 82 minutes when Mark McCammon fired home following a free kick.
The Hatters named an unchanged side for their match against Doncaster Rovers.
Doncaster Rovers caught Luton off guard and should have gone 1-0 up in the 2nd minute, but Paul Green failed to knock in a cross from Mark McCammon at the far post.
The Hatters were forced to continue defending and had Dean Brill to thank for a string of saves after Mills and James Coppinger continued to find space through to goal.
Again Brill came to the rescue, when on 11 minutes, Gareth Roberts cut inside, to slip past the defence, before having his shot saved.
After constant pressure Doncaster finally got a goal on 34 minutes after McCammon's header was pushed out by a diving Brill straight into the path of Mills, who knocked the ball past Brill's outstretched arms and into the net.
It took Luton 38 minutes to have their first shot on goal when Sam Parkin's cross found Darren Currie who was unfortunate to see his attempt go wide.

Despite a more settled restart Rovers continued to boss proceedings and should have doubled their lead on 61 minutes when McCammon forced Brill to pull out an impressive one armed save.
Luton finally started to get into the game when on 73 minutes Currie had another shot that was this time blocked by Rovers substitute Jason Price.
Matthew Spring had his attempt caught on 77 minutes following some quick movement inside the box by Parkin.
The home side added to their lead when a free kick fell to McCammon who fired the ball past Brill.
