Luton held onto the lead for just four minutes. Chris Martin put the Hatters in the lead early in the second half with a superb shot before a penalty taken by Notts County on the 53rd minute put the teams back level.
The Hatters make just one change to their starting line-up with Lewis Emanuel back in the squad after recovering from an injury.
Luton took a while to get into the game and found themselves defending early on.
However, the Hatters quickly sorted themselves out and had their first real chance of the game on the 20th minute.
Martin's shot forced the keeper to the edge of the box. The attempt was pushed away, straight into the path of Rossi Jarvis who quickly crossed the ball to Kevin Nicholls before his attempt rebounded of the far post.
The Hatters continued to attack and forced another save from Kevin Pilkington in the 29th minute when Asa Hall tried his luck for distance.
Luton were unfortunate not to take the lead just before half-time when Lewis Emanuel's shot nudged just over the post following a well placed cross into the box from Martin.
HALF-TIME: LUTON 0-0 NOTTS COUNTY
The Hatters faithful soon had something to cheer about when Luton took the lead on the 49th minute.
Jarvis set the ball up for Martin who drilled in a low shot, scoring his first goal for the club.
But the lead didn't last long. A handball in the area gave Notts County a penalty on 71 minutes, and Forrester made sure he didn't mess it up, firing his attempt past Brill and into the bottom corner.
Sam Parkin came close twice with two great headers. The first, on 79 minutes flew over the bar after Tristian Plummer saw his attempt reflected, before he saw his second saved on the line with just five minutes remaining.
