LIVERPOOL MATCH PREVIEW
Team News
Luton: Luton have doubts over Dean Brill and Chris Perry (both thigh), while goalkeeper Marlon Beresford is out with a shoulder injury. Matthew Spring is back after a ban, while striker Sam Parkin is available after a long-term ankle injury.
Liverpool: Jamie Carragher will captain Liverpool on his 500th appearance for the club. Manager Rafael Benitez intends to field a strong side and could give a debut to £6.5m defender Martin Skrtel.

One to watch
FERNANDO TORRES: Fernando Torres became Liverpool's record signing on July 4, 2007. The striker had spent the previous 12 years at Atletico Madrid, the club he supported as a boy. He left Atletico with a record of 82 goals in 214 league appearances. Torres made his competitive debut for the Reds at Villa Park on August 11, 2007. A week later he bagged his first official goal when Chelsea visited Anfield (though he had already scored in a pre-season friendly versus Shanghai Shenhua). The centre-forward's apparently seamless transition into English football was highlighted with a spectacular hat-trick when Liverpool travelled to Reading in the third round of the Carling Cup. Torres has scored 17 goals in 25 games this season, making him Liverpool's current top scorer.
From the boss
Kevin Blackwell:"We will attempt to play the same way against Liverpool as we did when they came to Kenilworth Road. We will also try to play the same as we have done in the last 16 games of the season. We are going to Liverpool with a good attitude, a good atmosphere amongst the squad and we will give it everything we have got. The players are looking forward to it. Anfield is a fantastic stadium and it is a great opportunity for them to show people what they can do."
Rafael Benitez:"All of us need to improve. The players know that some players are playing well and scoring goals, so we need to see the other players doing what they were doing at the beginning of the season when we were scoring goals from everywhere. When you have chances and you don't score the players can maybe lose confidence. But it's simple how you can change this: winning, scoring goals and playing well. We will try to do these things against Luton. I am not thinking about them, just about what players to use, because we know we are better than them. We need to show this on pitch."

Referee
PETER WALTON: Today's official is Peter Walton from Northamptonshire, who has taken charge of 24 games this season. He has issued a total of 79 yellow cards and three reds. Last season, Walton showed a total of 128 yellows and four red cards in 40 games.
