TOWN'S GIRLS IN SEVENTH HEAVEN

The Luton Town reserves moved closer to the top of the table following a 7-0 hammering of Brentford.

Steph Anes fired a first half hat-trick with Kirstie McIntosh and Laura Day taking the total to five. Anes later took full advantage of a tiring Bees defence to grab a further two goals in injury time taking her personal tally to five.

Meanwhile the Under 16s faced two tough games in five days and emerged victorious against tough opponents in the shape of West Bromwich Albion and Tottenham Hotspur.

Katie Davis opened the scoring for the Town against the Baggies who replied soon after to equalise.

Davis, however, restored the lead with a stunning left-foot volley and Shanice Jiminez made it 3-1 with a 25 yard strike early in the second half.

Albion then pulled another goal back before Jiminez went onto complete her hat-trick with two further strikes from outside of the box.

A late goal for the visitors finished off an enthralling game with Town winning 5-3.

In the Home Counties Girls League, Luton visited Tottenham Hotspur in a must win encounter in their quest to retain their league title.

The current club injury curse struck the squad leaving Town with just 11 players but this group of girls have bags of character and took all three points in comfortable and emphatic style.

Mirella Tambini gave Luton the lead converting a near post corner quickly followed by Holly Sheridan scoring in a similar manner to make it 2-0.

Jiminez rounded off a personally successful week with a third goal and a late Spurs consolation goal was not enough to derail another successful week in this squads' football education.

The Under 13s produced their best performance of the season in their local battle with St Martins. Luton produced some expansive attacking football in a devastating first half display with Rebecca Reeve scoring four times and Shannon Pratt producing a stunning 30 yard volley to give Town a 5-0 half time lead.

Pratt scored her second after the break and Henny Horsler completed the scoring in a 7-1 win.

Both Under 15 squads were also winners against Brentford and Enfield Town which resulted in both teams hitting the top of their respective leagues.
