Winners have been in short supply this summer.
Firstly England, at the World Cup, well, the less said about that the better, and then Andy Murray and Roger Federer - both tipped to do well, fail to win Wimbledon.
We're pretty sure that punters who've had a bet over the past three months haven't been particular successful. Unless of course you backed the USA and Algeria to earn draws and Germany to beat Fabio's boys in South Africa.
The football season is back and the Hatters take on Altrincham on Saturday in the opening fixture of the Blue Square Bet Premier.
All eyes will be on the Town, the favourites to lift the title come April, against an Alty side who earned a goalless draw on their last visit to Kenilworth Road.
Will it be the same again? Who knows, but what we do know is that every week we'll attempt to try and beat the bookies by recommending you some bets involving the Hatters this season with our new betting partner Coral.
Starting out as the 3/1 favourites, punters have got stuck into the Town in the ante-post market and are now 7/4 with Coral to be crowned champions.
Meanwhile, Saturday's visitors Alty are a 100/1 chance to win the BSBP with Coral and the betting for the curtain raiser between the two sides is similarly one-sided.
There's not a lot of value in getting stuck in to the Hatters at a measly 2/5, although that said Richard Money's men were 1/5 to beat Graham Heathcote's outfit the last time they met and it ended 0-0.
Heathcote's side are 6/1 while the draw can be backed at 100/30.
On the correct score front the odds begin to get more generous, however with a repeat of last April's bore draw a 12/1 chance. That's not bad value in our eyes if Alty decide to park the bus.
But confidence is high in the Town camp and after a successful pre-season (yes, don't worry, we know they were only friendlies, we're not getting too carried away) Money's men look in great shape with a number of impressive displays.
Ok so the Hatters haven't won on the opening day since a 2-1 victory over Hartlepool United in 2007 but we're picking 3-0 to the home side at 8/1 as our correct score selection.
Altrincham are no mugs so they proved last season - and not just against the Town - but any correct score for the visitors to pick up three points is 11/1 and bigger.
There are 15 markets in total available now on the Coral website for this curtain raiser.
Unfortunately at the time of writing there are no first goalscorer markets available but, if one does crop up, we'll take a chance on Matthew Barnes-Homer to net first.
Remember betting through Hattersbet and Coral earns much-needed revenue for the club so what are you waiting for?
Recommendations: Luton 3-0 (8/1), Matthew Barnes-Homer first goalscorer (TBC).
