ODDS-ON FOR 10 ON THE TROT

Posted on: Fri 09 Apr 2010

The Hatters are once again favourites to pick up all three points this weekend as they travel to Tamworth looking for a 10th straight win the BSP.

On Grand National day the Town are a short 8/13 shot to rack up another victory and see off a Lambs side who have won their last two.

This season Gary Mills' side have beaten Stevenage at the Lamb, drawn at home with Oxford and won at the Kassam Stadium.

So any punters racing into short prices about the Hatters to do the business have been warned!

The trouble finding the value when a team are playing so well is the biggest problem for this column.

8/13 - too short.

7/5 half-time/full-time - too short.

Tamworth are 4/1 while the draw is 13/5 and while we can see another win for Money's men, we're not going to advise you getting stuck into any of those prices.

If you fancy bet on the game you are spoilt for choice: there are currently 27 different markets to choose from.

Unfortunately none of our pre-Grays tips came in. 5-0 was tipped up but Liam Hatch had other ideas to head home the Hatters' sixth of the afternoon, scuppering our 10/1 tip.

For the trip to the Lamb we're going for 2-0. The Hatters are defending well - four clean sheets now on the bounce - and scoring for fun at the other end. While we'll take any victory at this point in the campaign we're confident that at 6/1 2-0 represents decent value. You could always opt for a 4-0 win at 25s but Tamworth are no mugs.

On the goalscorer front, Kevin Gallen, Tom Craddock, Jake Howells and Claude Gnakpa are the men in form.

It's impossible to pick which one will score at the Lamb, given that conceivably, the way they're playing they ALL could.

Gallen notched his first career hat-trick in the 6-0 romp over Grays and we're going to side with him to open the scoring at 5/1 tomorrow.

We'll also go with Jake Howells at a tasty 11/2 to score anytime and Matthew Barnes-Homer to score the LAST goal of the 90, also at 11/2.

With that in mind, for our popular scorecast bet, we'll combine our correct score and first goalscorer punts with Gallen to score first and the Town to win it 2-0 at 25/1. Why not stick a fiver on? You'll be kicking yourself if it comes up and you haven't back it!
