TOWN 2/1 TO DUMP OUT DALE

Posted on: Fri 06 Nov 2009

Official bookmaker bet365 make Town a 2/1 shot to beat Rochdale in Saturday's FA Cup second round tie at Kenilworth Road.

It will be new manager Richard Money's first game charge of the Hatters against a Dale side riding high in League 2.

The Town will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways following last week's defeat to Rushden but the bookies believe Keith Hill's Rochdale stand a better chance and are a 13/10 chance to progress to round two.

Both sides will probably have their eyes on promotion this season but a run in the cup is always a bonus. With that in mind, neither side will fancy a replay should Saturday's game end all square. bet365 go 12/5 that the two sides will have to meet again at Spotland on 17th November.

As always there is a plethora of punts available to fans who fancy a flutter.

The last time the two sides met in the competition was back in 2003 when the Hatters triumphed 2-0 in a second round tie at Spotland. If you think it could be the same scoreline on Saturday then bet365 believe another 2-0 win for the Hatters is a 12/1 shot.

On the goal front how about Tom Craddock? The striker was unlucky not to find himself on the scoresheet last weekend when he was harshly adjudged to be offside when scoring what looked like a perfectly good goal just before half-time. He takes penalties too so he's always worth a punt and if you think he'll do exactly that on Saturday and place a £20 bet on him you'll be £150 richer if he grabs the first goal.

Or how about chancing your arm with a scorecast? What about Asa Hall to score first and the Hatters to edge a 3-2 thriller?  Could it happen? bet365 believe that's a 250/1 shot! Is that worth a few quid, or even a few pence even?! Does that represent good value in your eyes?

Can you spot where the value lies?
