We were massively disappointed to land up drawing against Cambridge in our last game at Kenilworth Road.
Coming off the back of a superb result against Rochdale in the FA Cup we were all confident of securing three points and with 79 minutes on the clock we looked on course to doing so.
However, after Tom Craddock's fantastic strike we then endured a mad final 10 minutes which enabled Cambridge to earn a point.
I was obviously frustrated to have given the ball away that led to their first goal and I hold my hand up for that mistake.
Barring the last 10 minutes I thought we played some terrific football but at the end of the day we landed up winning just one point rather than three.
The manager has spoken to us that he wants us to start cutting out these mistakes but we must try and focus on the positives.
The festive period is always a crucial time and between now and the New Year we have four home games in the league.
If you look at our home record at the moment it is not up to the standard of some of the teams above us in the table and we realise we need to make Kenilworth Road a fortress.
We also have a cup replay with Rotherham next week following our 2-2 draw at the Don Valley Stadium on Saturday.
I felt we were good value for our lead and we were disappointed to concede a goal so close to half-time and even more frustrated to go behind.
Rotherham are a very good side playing well in the division above us but we are in good form too and we continued to keep going and deservedly got back on level terms.
Tonight's game is another important fixture against one of the sides above us in the table.
Both sides have changed their manager since we last met at Rockingham Road in August.
There will be two familiar faces in their side tonight in Ian Roper and Sol Davis who both served this club well.
Sol was a magnificent servant for us and enjoyed a very successful chunk of his career at Kenilworth Road and I'm sure you I'm you will join me in welcoming back both players.
Finally, I'd like to welcome Matthew Barnes-Homer and Ashley Cain to the club.
Both are talent players and the high-profile signing of Matthew sends out a massive statement of intent to the rest of the division.
Enjoy the game.
Nico.
