Everyone in the camp has been pleased with the performances since we were last at Kenilworth Road, which has seen us progress into the next round of the FA Cup and pick up three points in our quest for promotion last Saturday.
In the first game against Rochdale I thought we played brilliantly in the first half against a really good side going well in the division above.
We went 3-0 ahead playing some very good football and it was unfortunate that they got back in the game to force a replay.
However, four days later we put that right with a superb professional performance at Spotland.
The first half up there was the complete opposite to the first half at Kenilworth Road but I thought we defended really well.
We contained and frustrated them to go in at half-time with the score goalless.
Rochdale started the second half well where they hit the bar but after that I thought we played well and deservedly earned our place in the second round of the FA Cup.
We had Kevin Gallen to thank for two goals. He's on fire at the moment. While Shane Gore between the sticks was fantastic again, keeping the home side at bay.
I thought our shape was good and hopefully we can take heart from the two performances against Rochdale into the next round where we face another difficult test against a Rotherham team also going well in League 2.
The Don Valley Stadium is a strange place to go and play football but we will be focused, disciplined and professional and deal with their threat, to try and earn a place in the third round against one of the big boys.
Talking of strange atmospheres, our thoroughly professional victory at Grays Athletic last week was achieved in bizarre surroundings given your excellent support outnumbering the home crowd as well as extreme weather conditions in which the game was played.
No disrespect to Grays but I firmly believe if the conditions were not as severe as they were that afternoon then we would have won far more convincingly than we did.
Today, though, we face a difficult challenge against a Cambridge side who will no doubt want revenge on the extraordinary 4-3 defeat by us in September.
That will give this afternoon's game an extra edge but with another big crowd expected hopefully you can generate a good atmosphere.
Enjoy the game.
Nico.
