GORE KEEPING POSITIVE
It was case of mixed fortunes for débutant Town goalkeeper Shane Gore on Saturday.
Making his first appearance for Town since he was drafted in over the summer as cover for first-team keeper Mark Tyler, Gore reflected on an up and down beginning to his Hatters career that saw Richard Money's side surrender a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 with Rochdale in the Second Round of the FA Cup.
A gutted Gore said: "I was definitely nervous in the first-half but I settled better in the second-half though and felt more comfortable out there.
"It was nice to make some early saves that kept us in it because that gave me confidence.
"But to be 3-0 up and then to draw like that at the end we are all very disappointed but we are still in it so we have to remain positive.
"It was an unbelievable game to be involved in, I thought we were very good today but their quality showed in the end."
The 28-year-old is keen to remain upbeat despite the late comeback from their League 2 opponents and feels that Town can take a lot of positives from the game.
"We started very well scoring some good goals and we also defended well until late on in the game," he said.
"They are a good side sitting near the top of their league table so we have to look at the positives from the game and not get too disappointed.
"If we play like we did in the first half again we will win a lot more games in the league this season.
Talking about his progression in the Hatters' side the former Maidenhead stopper is keen to extend on his single appearance in front of the Town faithful.
He said: "I might get a chance to play some more games after my performance on my debut against Rochdale.
"It will hopefully give the gaffer a selection headache ahead of the next fixtures.
"On a more personal level if I can continue from here I can hopefully secure an extension to my current contract so I can remain a Luton player."
