THE CAPTAIN
Firstly, I would like to thank all the fans who made the trip to Carlisle on Tuesday night.
We were all disappointed with our first half performance, but I feel we raised the bar in the second, and we now need to replicate that performance for 90 minutes every game.
The second half proved we can play good football and that we have what it takes to start winning games and moving up the table, hopefully starting with three points this afternoon.
It was also great to see Ryan Charles make his full debut for the team. He has been excellent for our youth all season and is their top goal scorer so it's nice to see his hard work pay off.
Rio is a great kid and has a lot of potential. Having gone through our youth system myself it's great to see another product of it in our first team.
I am proud to be wearing the Captain's armband for the remainder of the season, although it was a shock when Mick offered it to me.
Chris Perry has been doing a great job these last few months and so I know I have big shoes to fill. However I have the backing of a great team, and together I know we can pull through and get some much needed victories.
Today's fixture against Oldham is bound to be another difficult match.
They come into the game chasing the play-off pack and will be hoping to continue in their promotion chase.
However, you can rest assure that we will all be doing everything we can to make this afternoon difficult for them, so that we can come away with our first victory under Mick.
As we already have a relatively small squad, it hits us harder when we have players out injured or with illness.
But Darren Currie and Don Hutchison are training with us again and were both on the bench against Carlilse and so hopefully our squad is beginning to strengthen.
With so much going on off the pitch at the moment it's vital that we remain focused on the game this afternoon.
Please continue to get behind us.
Enjoy the game.
Keith
