Next week sees Luton Town launch the second term of their TIPS Football Development Programme.

To download an application form click the link here: TIPS BROCHURE or call 01582 391927.

The first term was an enormous success with over 550 players attending seven different venues. From this programme, 11 players were promoted to the Performance Centre and four signed Centre of Excellence Contracts:

Alasan Ann (Under 14)
Jordan Cross (Under 14)
Oliver Cole (Under 11)
Louis Michel Yamfam (Under 10)

After the success of last year when 22 players progressed through the system and into our Centre of Excellence, the Programme has been expanded to include more venues around the county. Also the structure has been improved to allow more children to participate.
Last year at we ran a Soccer Centre at each venue once a week and also a Performance Centre once a week for the players to progress into. This year the Soccer Centre structure stays the same but there will be two Performance Centres.

We now have a more progressive route for the children involved in the Centre with the gaps between the Development Centre activities and the Development Centre and the Centre of Excellence being reduced.
Below is all the information regarding this years TIPS programme. To book as always please call the Office on 01582 391937 for a flyer and more information.

What are Luton Town Soccer Development Centres?
Soccer Centres are the entry level into our Talent Identification Programme (TIPS). They are held at four venues throughout Beds and North Herts and are open to:
* Ambitious players wishing to progress towards becoming a pro footballer.
* Established club players wishing to improve their ability.
* Newcomers wishing to master the basics.

What is the cost and what will I gain from attending?
The cost is £40 for ten practical sessions (nine training and one match). You will receive training from excellent coaches at great facilities, a comprehensive written assessment and the opportunity to fulfill your potential as a footballer.

I am an experienced player. is the Soccer Development Centre suitable for me?
Yes. Where numbers allow we will put experienced players together and ensure that the coaching pushes you as a player. Likewise, for players who are less experienced, training will target their needs.

What will we work on in training?
The four elements we feel are vital in making it as a professional footballer:
Technique - Insight - Personality - Speed

Who will my coach be?
All staff will be have an enhanced CRB (police record) check, a first aid qualification and will hold a minimum of the Level 2 FA Coaching Certificate. There will also be an involvement from Centre of Excellence staff to enhance the assessment procedure.

Can I play for my school and club during my time at the centre?
Yes. The only commitment we ask you to make is to do your best to attend training and matches.

How will my progress be assessed and communicated?
You will receive a written assessment and the opportunity to discuss this with your coach at the end of each term.

What happens if I do well?
If your coach feels you have shown the right levels of ability and attitude during or at the end of the term, you will be given the opportunity to progress to the Performance Centre/ Centre of Excellence. Players who display particular talent can be moved up through the programme after a few weeks, while the system also caters for those who wish to progress at a slower rate.

What is the performance centre?
The Performance Centre is the middle level fitting into our Talent Identification Programme. The top level is the Centre of Excellence, the entry level is the Soccer Development Centre.

By attending the soccer development centre am I guaranteed to get a chance at a higher level?
No. There is no guarantee of moving to a higher level. However, all players showing the required ability and attitude are guaranteed to be given this opportunity.
