How do I get a trial at Luton Town?

Like most clubs we have a network of scouts who work for the club on a local, national and international basis. They look at players from Under 7 through to semi professional football and recommend players for trials.

Can I write in to be invited for an open trial?

There are no specific trial dates with our Centre of Excellence as at this present time we do not organise open trials. We always watch players at their local club/school before inviting them in for trial.

How can I make Luton Town aware of my ability?

tips lOPTION ONE: For younger age groups (U7-U16) we recommend our Talent Identification Programme. This involves attending training at one of our ten regional development centres and playing in an assessment match. Over the past two years 31 players have been signed for the Centre of Excellence from this programme.

OPTION TWO: Alternatively you can fill in an application form to request on of our scouts to come and watch you play.

Before sending any an application we ask that you read the Information below, which will give you details on the standard required to apply for an trial period.

For a Player to be invited for an trial period at our Centre of Excellence, the procedure would be that one of our scouts would have seen him play in order to assess his ability. In some cases this will be two or three times.

Players registered within Academies and Centre of Excellence at Professional Football Clubs are rated as being within the top 2% within their respective age groups. To have a realistic chance of being selected for a trial, players will need to be playing regularly to District or County Standards or indeed have had previous experience as registered players at an Academy or Centre of Excellence.

If you feel you fit the criteria and would like to be considered for a trial, then please download, complete and send an Application for Trial Form by clicking here: Trial Request Form

We will assess the information you have submitted and make a decision on whether to send a scout to watch you. If the scout recommends you as a potential Centre of Excellence player, we will then contact you and invite you to a trial period with the relevant Centre of Excellence age group. The trial period will last from between three to six weeks and depending on the progress made will also include one or two games.

Send the application for trial form to the following address: Youth Development, Luton Town FC, 1 Maple Road, Luton, Beds, LU4 8AW or email it to gregg.ltfc@hotmail.co.uk
