HATTERS CONFIRM FURTHER DEPARTURES

Luton Town can confirm that Shaun Whalley and Danny Fitzsimons have both left the club by mutual consent.

Whalley, 27, departs the Hatters after scoring five goals in 27 matches. The winger was signed from Southport in the summer of 2013, and last season picked up two title winners’ medals having also helped AFC Telford to the Conference North title. Shaun’s highlight this term was his two-goal man-of-the-match performance against Mansfield in November.

Defender Fitzsimons, meanwhile, leaves with the unfortunate distinction of not making a single appearance for the Town. The 23-year-old joined the Hatters from Histon in June 2013 but a serious cruciate knee injury severely hampered the left-back’s chances of making the first team. Over the past two seasons he has worked hard on his recovery to make a return, and has enjoyed loan spells at Brackley and Bishop’s Stortford.

Everyone at Luton Town would like to wish both players the best of luck in their careers away from Kenilworth Road.

Meanwhile the Hatters can also confirm that striker Ricky Miller, who was signed from Boston United last summer, has had his contract terminated (subject to appeal) following an internal investigation into a breach of club discipline.

The Club will not be making any further comment.
