LAMP has been helping homeless young people in Luton for 20 years, we find them a safe home then help them get their lives back on track. Most young people arrive at LAMP because of family breakdown, their lives are in chaos. They need help with life skills and personal issues like depression & low self-esteem. We are with them for the long haul, all the way through to training, employment and independent living.  Nobody should have to cope with life on their own let alone a scared 17 year old with no idea of how the world works. Poverty and unemployment has increased over the past ten years in Luton. 1 in 4 people live in poverty. Biscot, Dallow, Northwell, High Town and Farley are in the top 10% most deprived wards in the country. The Luton Foodbank offers emergency food aid to people with nowhere left to turn. They provide respite by supplying a nutritional non-perishable food parcel with enough food for 3 days. Thus allowing time for people to deal with the cause of their food crisis; whilst offering help to resolve problems. Last year we gave out 5650 food parcels from which 1/3 were for children. Our local NSPCC centre is a place where children who have suffered abuse and neglect come to get the help they need.  By working with children and their families we help turn their lives around so they can get their confidence back and learn to feel safe again.  The support of Luton Town FC’s fans would be a huge boost to the new centre, raising vital funds and awareness of the services we provide here in Luton.  Please support our local centre because every childhood is worth fighting for.
