Manager feels wins will come sooner rather than later at home

Hatters manager Nathan Jones insists there is no fear in his squad when they play at Kenilworth Road.

The Town secured a second successive away win with a 1-0 victory over Wycombe on Saturday, but have yet to win a home match with Jones at the helm, drawing two and losing one.

But the manager believes that it’s just a matter of the time before the performances turn into victories in Bedfordshire.

We want to play there and we love playing at home," said Jones. "There was no pressure the other night [against Yeovil last Tuesday].

“We passed the ball and we were brave. Bravery is not just running through a brick wall, it’s playing and getting on the ball when the other team want to press you and take your livelihood away.”

Jones has previously called for a more clinical Hatters side in front of goal, with Alan Sheehan’s stunner against Yeovil the first goal in four outings at Kenilworth Road.

Despite the dry patch, the manager hopes the way the Town play is giving the fans belief a run of victories can come in the near future.

“We don’t fear playing at home,” he added. “I don’t fear playing there.

“I want a crowd that’s happy and sees where we want to go. If we all chip in, then we might be able to get there quicker.”
