Midfielder says Town have belief following upturn in form

Cameron McGeehan believes the Town can gatecrash the Play-Offs after Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Hartlepool put them in contention for a place in the top seven.

The Hatters’ win, allied with Plymouth’s defeat at Carlisle, lifted the Town level on points with the Devon club with two games to go.

But despite the Town facing two matches against sides also chasing promotion in Southend and Stevenage, McGeehan is confident the Hatters can extend their season.

“Obviously we’ve slipped a bit because of the run we’d been on, but now we’ve hit a bit of form,” said the 20-year-old, who grabbed his third goal in his last nine starts to put the Town 1-0 up against Pools on Saturday.

“There’s no reason why we can’t win our next two matches and if we win them there’s no doubt we’ll be in the Play-Off spots.

“It’s all very exciting and we’re all really up for the challenge.

“It’s a big week ahead for us. Southend’s a massive game, but I hope we can go there, turn them over and then it’s all to play for in the last game.”
