Town secure long-term future of midfielder

Luton Town Football Club are delighted to announce that Cameron McGeehan will join the Hatters on a permanent basis on 1st July.

The 20-year-old midfielder has put pen to paper on a two-year contract following two separate, and successful, loan spells at Kenilworth Road.

McGeehan joins the Town from Norwich City for a six-figure sum having made a total of 33 appearances across his two loan stints.

After helping the Hatters to the Conference title in 2013/14, in which he scored several crucial goals, McGeehan re-signed on loan in the campaign just passed, scoring three times in 15 appearances.

A former Youth Cup winner while with the Canaries, McGeehan also spent a short time on loan at Cambridge last term, where he was a key figure in the U’s’ FA Cup tie with Manchester United in the FA Cup in January.

Town boss John Still told lutontown.co.uk: “It goes without saying that we are thrilled that Cameron will be a Luton Town player.

“We all know what Cameron is capable of; we have seen it in the last two seasons.

“Cameron has become a Luton Town player. He gets it. He loves the club and the fans have really taken to him. That’s what we have tried to install in all of our players and that can only bode well for now and the future.”
