Hatters face 506-mile round trip to Devon on August 6th

The Sky Bet EFL fixtures are out – and for the fourth season running Luton Town open up with a long away trip on Saturday August 6th!

The Hatters will kick-off their EFL League Two campaign by making the trip south to Devon to face last season’s beaten play-off finalists Plymouth Argyle.

Last time we journeyed to Home Park, we returned home with all three points for the fourth time in new manager Nathan Jones’ first five away games thanks to Jack Marriott’s solitary goal.

With our new signing from Oxford United now on board too, our potential Hatters’ hotel chain strike force of Marriott and Danny Hylton will need to be fully operational for the 506-mile round-trip!

After an EFL Cup first round tie on Tuesday August 10, which we’ll find out about at 1pm today with the draw on Facebook, the West Country provides our opposition for the next two games with Yeovil Town and Newport County visiting Kenilworth Road on Saturday 13th and Tuesday 16th respectively.

Then it’s two local derby trips on the following Saturdays, with Stevenage playing host to the Hatters on Saturday August 20th and Cambridge United doing likewise on the 27th.

Over the festive period, we’ll host recently relegated Colchester United on Boxing Day and Barnet on New Year’s Eve, before journeying to the south coast to face Portsmouth on Monday January 2nd.

On the final day of Saturday May 6th, we finish with a home game for the third season running since returning to the top 92...this time against Morecambe.

Reaction to follow later in the morning…
