Hatters and Subway join forces
To kick off the 2012/13 football season, a new community fundraising initiative has been launched by local SUBWAY® Stores in an initiative to support the Hatters youth department.Luton Town has always been central in the community and now we have joined up Subway to offer local kids the opportunity there otherwise would not be able to have. Before any physical activity such as sport, nourishment is important. So it's perhaps only natural that the George Street, Galaxy and Crystal House SUBWAY® Stores will be supporting the local school children by contributing 10p every time they sell from their range of selected Subs.
Subway are one the world’s most well known brands with over 30,000 outlets around the globe. Yet each Subway is a franchise owned by an individual from the community and staffed by local people.
All the money raised will help finance budding young footballers gain access to coaches and facilities that would otherwise have been unavailable to them. Subway is working with the Hatters to create a bursary to offer places with the Club’s TIPS coaching course.
This is part of a special initiative by Subway to work closely with the community served by their local store, and they are pledging to put 10p from every one of their selected Subs during the next 3 months towards creating a special fund to pay for talented kids who cannot afford to go on the TIPS programme.
Local schools will be asked to nominate children who could not normally afford such an opportunity to access the bursary. Up till December, all local Subways will donate some of their takings towards creating a special fund to pay for talented kids who cannot afford to go on the TIPS programme when purchasing one of a number of specially selected Subs. And they’ll be doing that every single day of the entire 2012/13 football season! Look out for more details in your local Subway and around the ground.
For those who love their Subway Subs, it is a unique chance to perhaps discover a future star of Luton Town Football Club. For those who have never tasted one, it is both a chance to help local children and enjoy a fantastic Sub sandwich for the first time!
Thanks for all your support – and keep an eye on our progress.
