McCOURT A FANTASTIC TALENT - STILL

Former Celtic winger Paddy McCourt is just the player the Town have been looking for according to manager John Still.

The current Northern Ireland international has agreed a two-year contract at Kenilworth Road and Still believes McCourt will provide the spark for the Town in League 2 next term.

A very happy Still told Hatters Player HD: “What can I say about Paddy? He’s a crowd pleaser.

“He can play wide left, or inside…supporters will make their own minds up about him, but he has fantastic talent.

“He’s still involved with Northern Ireland and could be going to the Euros next year – simple as that.

“Paddy’s got great ability – we’ve just got to get him on the ball. He’s what we’re looking for – someone who can play the pass to unlock the defence. Those kind of players aren’t easy to get.

“We’ve worked hard to try and get him and I’m pleased with that.”

McCourt, who has won the Scottish Premiership title with Celtic in the past, exclusively told Player: “This is a club that’s very ambitious and the thinking behind signing a two-year contract was because there’s a belief that not only we can be successful this year, but we can carry that on again the following season.

“This club wants to go places and be challenging at the top end of the league, and that’s where I want to be myself.

“Hopefully I can bring the experience of winning things in the past but it’s not as easy as just signing players.

“Next season is going to be a lot of hard work. I’ve been in this league before when I was young at Rochdale. I know what it’s about and I know what it takes to be successful in it.
