Ed Smith joins the Kenilworth Road team

We are pleased to welcome a new member of staff in the shape of Ed Smith, who has joined the Kenilworth Road team as Marketing and Communications Manager.

Ed, a proud Lutonian and life-long Hatters fan, will lead the Marketing and Communications team with a broad remit to help develop the communications strategy. He will be working closely with colleagues across the club to bring a more consistent approach and to widen the scope of the Club’s marketing activities. He will also be helping to establish a more professional approach in this area among the Club’s partner organisations, such as the Community Trust and Trust in Luton.

Ed went to school and college in Luton before graduating from The London College of Printing. Since then, he’s worked as a bar manager in Paris, a graphic design lecturer at Barnfield College, and a web and design manager for an events company in London. Prior to joining us here at Luton Town, Ed headed up the brand and digital team at Teenage Cancer Trust, a national charity who help young people in the UK with cancer, where he oversaw the charity’s first major rebrand and a complete rebuild of their website.

Chief Executive Gary Sweet said: “Ed’s experience in setting up and managing marketing and communications departments makes him a key addition to the behind-the-scenes team here at Luton. Ed’s got a great understanding of Luton Town FC and the local area, so he’s well placed to come in and help us develop our Marcomms strategy at this exciting time for the club.”

Outside of football, Ed is a keen guitarist and songwriter. His all-time favourite Luton player is Mick Harford.
