Hatters dev squad lose out
The Town development squad went down 3-2 to a strong MK Dons side in the Final Thrid Development League Cup on Tuesday afternoon.
Andy Awford included trialists Andre Blackman – formerly of Blackpool and Celtic – and Vaz Karagiannis, who has scored 15 goals for Leatherhead this season, in the side.
After a goalless first 45 minutes the home side took the lead shortly after the restart when Tom Hitchcock nodded home a free-kick less than a minute into the second period.
The Dons made it 2-0 moments later when Rob Hall curled home from 20 yards, and with 25 minutes to go, it was three when Kabongo Tshimanga chipped in a fine finish.
But the Town rallied, and Frankie Musonda pulled one back to make it 3-1 when powering home with 20 minutes left on the clock.
The Hatters continued to push forward and were rewarded late on when Zane Banton finished superbly.
However, the Dons held on to consign the Town dev squad to a second successive defeat following last week’s loss to Bournemouth.
