The skipper enjoyed a solid afternoon in defence for Nathan Jones's second victory as manager.
Hatters captain Scott Cuthbert hopes the side's performance at Wycombe on Saturday can be taken forward into games at Kenilworth Road in the near future.
The Town secured a 1-0 victory thanks to Cameron McGeehan’s superb strike, while the defence proved resolute to earn a third clean sheet in five games under Nathan Jones.
Now the skipper hopes the style of football can be replicated in Bedfordshire as Jones searches for his first home Hatters win.
Cuthbert said: “The last two away games have been excellent, now we need to get that going in front of the home fans.
“I’m delighted with the result. Wycombe are a good team and they outplayed us at home on Boxing Day so it was an excellent win.
“We know how Wycombe set up, very direct and looking to put us under a lot of pressure with set plays. We had to stay strong. It wasn’t our best performance, but defensively we were excellent right through the team.”
It was a hard slog at times for a Hatters side under pressure for large periods of the first half, but Cuthbert and co. came through for a second successive away victory, thanks to McGeehan’s tenth goal of the campaign.
With AFC Wimbledon on the road on Saturday, Cuthbert is aware of where his side can improve in order to come away from Kingsmeadow with three points for the first time ever.
“We brought a bit of pressure on ourselves in the first half being sloppy on the ball and giving away free-kicks. But the last 10 minutes we started to move the ball well,” the captain continued.
“The second half was a typical League 2 game having to grind out the win. We made it difficult for Wycombe and give them limited amount of chances to get back in the game.
“We’ve been missing that bit of spark in front of goal the last couple of games. Cam pops up in the right place and he can score unbelievable goals, so he’s a great lad to have in your team and a young lad who’s
only going to get better.
“We go to Wimbledon next, they’re a tough opposition. They’re a big team who put the ball in the box and put you under pressure.
“We need to be better on the ball, keep the defensive qualities and hopefully we can get the result.
"The fans are fanatical, they travel everywhere in their numbers and it was great to give them something to shout about.”
