Taster training sessions available with the Hatters' football development programme
Taster Training Session dates have been announced for the Luton Town and Central Beds College Football Development programme which offers youngsters a unique opportunity to get a first class education whilst participating within a professional football club environment.
The Football Development Programme is a two year programme for boys aged 16-19 years old, during which they study for BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport, the equivalent of 3 A-Levels, plus Vocational Options in their Second Year which include Personal Fitness Instructing and Coaching Badges
Studying at either The Arena in Baldock which has a state of the art training facility or at Central Bedfordshire College in conjunction with Creasey Park, participants will get a first class education which allows them to get to university whilst also gaining qualifications to work in the sports industry, including FA coaching badges.
They will also train for a minimum eight hours a week with UEFA ‘A’ and ‘UEFA B’ qualified Luton Town FC Academy coaches and represent the club & college in the Football Conference Youth Alliance League and in the British Colleges League. Being part of the Luton Town and Central Beds Football Development Programme allows you direct access to the same elite coaches that work with the club's academy teams and many of the same facilities, with opportunities to train with and be selected for the club's under-18s also available.
Many graduates of this college scheme over the years have gone on to enjoy successful careers both on and off the field. Many have achieved Scholarships in the USA and many have enjoyed successful Non-League Careers.
It's clear therefore that the Football Development Programme at Luton Town FC is an excellent way for young, willing talent to build a platform for their future playing and non-playing careers.
