Ryan Hall and Zane Banton on target for the Hatters

Much of the attention was on Kenilworth Road for Luton's pre-season friendly against Brentford last night. But Luton's Youth Team Coach, Paul Driver, also took a second XI to AFC Hornchurch where The Hatters chalked up a 0 - 2 win over the home side with Ryan Hall and Zane Banton on target in the first half.

We spoke to Paul about the game, to find out how the match played out.

"The intention was to give some of the senior players a good run out to clock up some match-time ahead of the new season. Mark Tyler played in goal, and kept a clean sheet, and Ryan Hall looked sharp during his 60 minute outing. These games are also a great opportunity for some of the younger players to get a taste of senior football."

His goal came on 17 minutes when Luke Trotman put Hall through, and with plenty of space in the box he slotted the ball home. Then on 35 minutes, goalscorer turned to supplier as Hall put Zane Banton through for Luton's second of the evening.

Recent signing Magnus Okuonghae also played 80 minutes for the Town.

Driver added "All in all it was a pretty good day at the office. We looked better in possession, and we didn't sustain any injuries so I'm happy with that."

Luton: Tyler, Trotman, Williams,  Okuonghae , Trialist, Hall, Robinson, Galliford, Howells, Banton, Parry.
Subs: Musonda, Atkinson, Justin, Trialist
