Hatters dev squad held at Kenilworth Road
A host of Town players got 90 minutes under their belts as the development squad were held to a 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient at Kenilworth Road.
Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu, Luke Wilkinson, Nathan Doyle, Dan Potts and Paddy McCourt all completed the game against the O’s.
Youth team striker George Murray put the Hatters in front 10 minutes after half-time, converting the rebound after his initial penalty was saved.
However, Orient equalised seven minutes from time when Scott Kaskhet slotted past Elliot Justham to earn a share of the spoils.
The Hatters shaded the first half and were almost in front inside two minutes when firstly McCourt saw a free-kick saved and then Luke Wilkinson rattled the crossbar with a fierce drive from 12 yards.
Murray also struck the outside of the post as the Town dominated with Ruddock and McCourt a constant threat to the Orient defence.
However Murray did find the net in the second period when following-up his saved penalty after Orient defender Sandro Samedo was adjudged to have handled in the penalty area.
In front the Town went in search of a second but it was the visitors who finished the strong and levelled on 83 minutes when Kashket waltzed into the penalty area and side-footed into the bottom corner.
Yet there was still time for the Hatters to almost win it - a fine move involving McCourt and Luke Trotman created a chance for Frankie Musonda, only for the youth team centre-half to slice a shot wide from six yards.
Town: Justham; Musonda, Wilkinson, O’Brien, Trotman, Potts, Doyle, Galliford, McCourt, Ruddock, Murray (sub Atkinson 74). Subs not used: Justin, Gooch, Bakinson.
