A serious injury to Michael Shamalo saw the match abandoned

A young Hatters squad took on Barnet earlier on today in a match that was abandoned due to what was thought to be a serious injury to Michael Shamalo.

The hosts took a 1-0 lead at the Hive just after 70 minutes, but the game was stopped as Shamalo appeared to sustain what looked like a bad leg injury.

However, the club are pleased to confirm the injury was not as serious as first feared, and the youngster was well enough to get the coach home with the rest of his team mates.

Paul Driver’s squad included only two second year scholars, several Under-16s and Under-15, Avan Jones.

Town squad: Parker, Sorunke, Byron, Mead, Phelan, James (Read 60), Cotter (Neufville 60), Richardson (Peck 70), Snelus, Tomlinson (A Jones), Shamalo.

Subs not used: C Jones
