Town programme printers make own headlines at Playfootball

Torrential rain in Luton couldn’t dampen the spirits of 24 teams competing for the Mayor’s Charity Cup as Bartham Group ran out winners at Stopsley High School’s Playfootball yesterday.

Bartham Group, who print the Hatters’ Talk of the Town matchday programme, made headlines of their own by beating Arriva (pictured below) 3-2 in the final after their opponents missed two penalties.

Stonegate pubs (pictured below) won the third/fourth place play-off against Workflow, while a team of LTFC staff narrowly failed to make it through the group stage, crashing out on the rarely-used ‘Goals Scored’ rather than ‘Goal Difference’ rule after winning three, drawing one and losing one of their matches!

The Hatters’ commercial team would like to thank main sponsors Utilita for their backing of the tournament in aid of the Mayor of Luton’s supported charities Keech Hospice Care, Macmillan Cancer Support and CrescentCare.
