This problem can sometimes occur when using a single, built-in speaker due to the inability of some PC
speaker drivers to cope with stereo-encoded audio. We recommend the use of a full-duplex sound card and external
speakers or headphones to make the most of Hatters World.
We would also recommend verifying that the correct and up-to-date drivers for your sound card are
installed, as this can frequently rectify unexpected audio behaviour.
Some sound cards are incapable of playing audio content that has been created
with either an 8 Kilohertz (kHz) or 16 kHz sampling rate. To determine if the
sampling rate could be a contributory issue, check the sampling rate that is
used in the file with which you are experiencing problems by doing the
following:
Open the problem stream using the Create a Popup Player link below the video
In Windows Media Player click on the File menu and select Properties.
In the Media Properties section, under Audio Codec,
the sampling rate that is used for the audio is listed (see below), for
example, 44 kHz. If the sampling rate is 8 kHz or 16 kHz, this can be the
cause of the problem.

If this proves to be the case, you should contact the manufacturer of your sound card for the most
up-to-date drivers.
