A single goal from striker Tom Craddock ensured the Hatters picked up their first away win in the Blue Square Premier and record their third victory on the bounce at Forest Green Rovers. Craddock netted from close range after capitalising on a poor back-header from home debutant Mark Ellis to poke past goalkeeper Terry Burton from 10 yards. It was the Town striker's third goal of the season but 15 minutes later he missed the chance to make that four when he blasted a penalty against the FGR crossbar after Shane Blackett was fouled in the box by Andy Taylor. In a game of few chances, especially in the first half, it took Forest Green until the 85th minute to register a shot on target when substitute Ross Stern saw a shot comfortably saved by Mark Tyler. That was all the Hatters' stopper had to do all night but despite the three points - with Oxford thumping ChesterCity 4-0 - the result knocks the Town off the top of the table. Luton Town: Tyler, Keane, White, Pilkington, Craddock (Basham 90), Burgess, Blackett, Hall, Gallen, Reynolds, Murray (Jarvis 46). Subs not used: Gore, Howells, Gnakpa. Booked: White (77) Forest Green: Burton, Taylor, Preece, Stonehouse, Brown, Platt (Lloyd 83), Smith, Davies, Challinor (Stern 79), Ellis, Adams. Subs not used: Else, Pugh, Pass. Booked: Stonehouse (62) Referee: Rob Lewis. Attendance: 1,805 including 869 from Luton. Final score Forest Green Rovers 0 Luton Town 1 (Craddock 57) Result FULL TIME:  Referee Lewis brings proceedings to a close after four additional minutes and the Town have held on to record their third straight win with a narrow victory and their first on the road this season. Keep your eyes peeled on for match action and reaction here from the New Lawn. 90 mins -  A late sub from Mick as brings on Steve Basham for the goalscorer Craddock. 90 mins - The Hatters will take efforts like that all day as a wild effort is screwed wide by Steve Adams from well outside the penalty area. 90 mins - The fourth official has indicated three added minutes at the end of the 90. 88 mins - Tyler's handling as been impeccable again this evening and as the Town come under the cosh late on from the hosts, the goalkeeper relieves the pressure with some calm gathering from corners and crosses. 85 mins - Finally a shot on target for the host as substitute Stern cuts inside and drives a shot towards Tyler but it's straight down the 'keeper's throat. Easy pickings. 83 mins - As Rovers continue to attack Pilkington again comes to rescue with a sliding challenge to concede a corner from which Ellis heads way over Tyler's crossbar. 80 mins - Forest Green are still to test Tyler but that's been largely down to great defending from the Hatters. This time Platt drives a shot goalwards from outside the area that is well blocked by Pilkington. 77 mins - White is booked for a nasty challenge down the Town right and from the resulting free-kick Blackett does well to clear the danger sliding at full stretch. Great defending under pressure. 72 mins - Craddock smashes his penalty against the Forest Green crossbar. Blackett went on another surging run from left-back and was upended by Taylor. As Craddock hit his spot-kick against the underside of the crossbar the referee eventually gave Rovers a free-kick inside the area. 72 mins - PENALTY TO LUTON! 68 mins - Stonehouse is flying forward again for Forest Green and as the Town back off the left-full back he lets fly with a shot that just flashes past Tyler's left-hand post. 65 mins - Forest Green have yet to test Tyler in the Town goal at all inside these first 65 minutes so let's hope it stays that way. The Hatters are certainly on top and have got their passing act together. 62 mins - Almost 2-0 to the Hatters. Jarvis swings in a right-wing free-kick to the back-post and Hall - sensing a second in two games - gets above the rest of the bodies in the area to send a header goalwards that is turned away by a good stop by Burton getting down to his right. Unlucky. 58 mins - Craddock's third of the campaign and no doubt he'll be delighted. Not could be the same of Ellis with a mistake on his debut. The Town have certainly started the better of the sides. 57 mins - GOAL! Forest Green 0-1 HATTERS - Well it was going to take something like that to break the deadlock and a weak back header by Mark Ellis is seized by Craddock who holds of the attentions of his marker to poke the ball past the advancing Burton. Get in! 56 mins - Positive play from the Hatters. Blackett surges forward down the left-flank and swaps passes with Gallen. The defender continues his run into the box but can only steer a cross-cum-shot well over Burton's crossbar. That's better. 54 mins - Steve Basham is stripped and ready but he's scampered down the touchline and is going through a few stretches. 51 mins - Asa Hall is down for the Hatters. Looks like a nasty landing by the midfielder after challenging for the ball and he's attended to by Harry Scott-Stackman. He's up now but looking a bit groggy. Some activity on the Luton bench meanwhile... 50 mins - The attendance has just been read out by the announcer: 1,805 including 869 from Bedfordshire. Not an outnumbering this time but a great effort which is acknowledged by the home faithful. 48 mins - Surging from Stonehouse down the left-flank for Rovers, after getting past Reynolds, comes to nothing as the full-back attempts a shot that trickles wide. 46 mins - Change of tactics also for the Hatters. It looks like it's 4-4-2 now with Blackett at left-back, Burgess left-wing, Reynolds right-back and Jarvis right-wing. TEAM NEWS  Change at the break for Town - Rossi Jarvis is on for Freddie Murray. HALF TIME -  Referee Lewis calls time on the first half action and we're deadlocked at 0-0. The Hatters have shown glimpses of their quality but have been unbale to find that telling contribution. Tune in for second half updates in 15 minutes. 45 mins - We're going to have one added minute at the end of the first half... 44 mins - Half-hearted penalty appeals from Forest Green this time as player manager Brown goes down under pressure from White by the ref's have nothing of it. A moment later Smith finds himself in the Town box but a combination of Burgess and Blackett deal with the danger. 40 mins - Good play from the hosts this time but they're denied by an offside flag by the linesman as neat interplay between Platt and Davies sees the latter ahead of the play before he shoots straight at Tyler. 38 mins - Yep, still goalless. Rovers have come back into slightly in the past five minutes as the Hatters continue to be frustrated by some perplexing refereeing decisions. 33 mins - Referee Lewis waves away modest appeals from the Hatters for a penalty as Craddock is blocked off when challenging for a long ball in the air following Tyler's kick. 30 mins - The answer is almost. Gallen does well to wrestle the ball off Paul Stonehouse and crosses across the faces of goal. If he plays it right it's a tap in for the waiting Craddock but he doesn't and the ball is cleared by the Forest Green defence. 28 mins - Best effort of the match so far as the Town come close to opening the scoring when Hall gets up highest in the penalty area to nod Murray's left-wing cross narrowly wide of Burton's right-hand post. Hatters have upped the tempo slightly but can they break the deadlock before the break? 27 mins - An effort off target for the Hatters which sails over Burton's crossbar and comfortably over the stand behind the goal from Craddock who tries a shot from a tight angle down the left-hand side after Gallen had flicked on Tyler's long kick. 21 mins - Still goalless and not much to talk about. The Town perhaps have now had the better of the play but looking for that pass to unlock the home defence. 16 mins - Strange decision from the referee to penalise Pilkington after he looked to have cleanly won the ball but Conal Platt swings in the resulting free-kick which is punched away well by Mark Tyler. 11 mins - Nice first touch from Murray following Craddock's header and it looks like there's a decent opportunity but the new signing from Grays Athletic curls in a cross which is wayward and the move breaks down. 10 mins - First chance of the evening and it falls to the Town. Gallen wins a corner down the right which Burgess floats to the back-post to find Pilkington. Is he after the golden boot? Maybe not but his header goalwards is on target but is cleared off the line by Rovers' right back Andy Taylor. 8 mins - Does that count as a shot on target? Burgess pings a ball out to Reynolds on the right-flank but the Pompey loanee's attempted cross is miscued and after the ball hangs in the air for an age it's easy catching practise for Terry Burton in the Rovers goal. 6 mins - Plenty of Town fans here but the same can't be said about the action. Rovers have probably had more of the ball so far but it's still goaless. 2 mins - Is this 3-5-2? Looks like it with Pilkington, Blackett and White making up a back three with Reynolds, Keane, Burgess, Murray and Hall making a middle five with Gallen and Craddock up-top. 1 mins - It's Forest Green that get us underway kicking towards the terrace where their fans are congregated. Come on you Hatters! 19:44 - The teams are out on the pitch here at the New Lawn. Town in their orange shirts, Rovers in their traditional black and white shirts. Get ready and stayed tuned to all the action. 19:20 - TEAM NEWS Mick Harford makes two changes to his side that beat Gateshead on Saturday. Alan White and Callum Reynolds both return from suspension. White has missed all three matches so far  this season while Reynolds missed Saturday's encounter with Gateshead. It means Jake Howells and Rossi Jarvis - both starters in the narrow win over the Tynesiders - drop to the bench. Adam Newton has still not recovered from a groin problem but was seen being put through his paces by physio Harry Scott-Stackman in the pre-match warm-up. Forest Green caretaker boss - 30-year-old David Brown - not only names himself as one of two strikers but gives debuts to loan signings Mark Ellis and Steve Adams. There is considerable support here for the Hatters here in Nailsworth and could land-up outnumbering the home support. Luton Town: Tyler, Keane, White, Pilkington, Craddock, Burgess, Blackett, Hall, Gallen, Reynolds, Murray. Substitutes: Gore, Howells, Jarvis, Gnakpa, Basham. Forest Green: Burton, Taylor, Preece, Stonehouse, Brown, Platt, Smith, Davies, Challinor, Ellis, Adams. Substitutes: Llody, Else, Stearn, Pugh, Pass. Referee: Rob Lewis.
