Central Beds, Hitchin Town and Luton Town:
This unique partnership between Central Bedfordshire College, Hitchin Town F.C. and Luton Town F.C. allows students to complete a BTEC in sport whilst having the opportunity to play for the club in the Conference Youth Alliance League, the highest ranked league in the U.K. for this age group outside of the professional game.
The scheme is open to students currently in Year 11 at schools all around the region. Hitchin Town are one of non-league’s most progressive clubs, and has a state of the art training facility in Baldock. The course consists of a first class training and coaching programme (delivered by Luton Town’s UEFA A and B Licence coaches), with the players training daily and having the opportunities to progress to Luton Town’s Youth Team and Hitchin Town’s Under 18 and reserve team. There is an academic programme tailored around the players training schedule with a minimum BTEC Advanced National Diploma in Sport (Performance and Excellence) delivered by Luton Town’s full-time Education Officer in the fully equipped classroom at the venue.
The Football Academy is designed for boys who want to take a vocational qualification whilst receiving a full-time football training programme. This gives players an opportunity to progress into the professional game whilst also giving them opportunities to progress to Football Scholarships in the USA or a part-time football career.
Trials will be at The North Herts Arena in Baldock on Saturday 16th March. Arrive for 10.30 am and it will last for 3 hours.
